AirJaldi’s 3rd Networking Course is under way, situated in upper TCV Dharamsala. The course is 4 weeks of learning the basics of computer software/hardware and networking wireless/wired. At the end of the course, participants are able to carry out basic PC troubleshooting, create a simple server-based network and connect computers to it via wired and wireless interfaces.
Led by Tenzin Yonten, the course invites participants from a vast sphere of regions. Tenzin Norphel from Orissa stated it’s a great place to learn more about the theory and practical side of IT. Most participants have had some experience of computer theory from past schooling, for example Kalsang Tsering who received a Computer A level from the Tibetan Vocational Training Center in Dehradun. He enjoyed the theory oriented experience, though as he says this course is a great platform for practical wiring and configuration. At AirJaldi we believe for you to truly understand the theory of a concept you need to be able to practically apply every aspect of it.
The personal atmosphere with a small group helps us understand, agrees a few of the students. ‘It lets us interact and ask questions freely’ comments Mr Norphel, ‘at another course I did which cost 4 times as much, the class was so big that you could easily get left behind.’ Here classes are not lectures but an interactive discussion, participation is essential to understanding.
With the information technology boom in India, the AirJaldi program is one of many. Hence the expectations are high; the challenge is there for us and the students. With some dedication, concentration and enthusiasm, the AirJaldi Network Course should be a worthwhile experience for all those involved.
