The Extreme Workshop on Communication (ExtremeCom) brought together researchers and practitioners in areas related to unique networks. Such networks include delay and disruption tolerant networks, sparse sensor networks, power-efficient networking, as well as other networking paradigms for rural and remote areas.

This year, ExtremeCom was hosted in Dharamsala by AirJaldi on September 4-10. Our perch up here in the Himalayas offered a unique masala ("mix" in Hindi) of mountainous terrain, remote locations, diverse cultural habitation and of course an insight into  AirJaldi's work. Our experiences in designing and deploying rural networks was a central feature of many of the Extremecom 2010 activities.
